James Henry Thomas, born and raised in Raeford, NC, had a passion for automotive body work and worked in that field for numerous years. As a devout Christian, Mr. Thomas could always be found serving and loving others.
Mr. Thomas had a passion for cars, which sparked the foundation's interest to have an annual car show.
Vernell Thomas, the Founder, was the spouse of Mr. Thomas and had a passion for giving to others. Following the passing of her husband, Ms. Thomas had the desire to continue the legacy of service by giving to others and funded this unique scholarship.
Passionate about child care, Ms. Thomas owned 2child care centers and dedicated her life to the improvement of the lives of children and young adults through her love of education.
Meet Antonio Crosby! He is the 6th grandson of James and Vernell Thomas, born in Charlotte, NC and raised in Fayetteville, NC. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Fayetteville State University and is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. With a deep commitment to education and community service, Antonio carries forward his grandparents vision of empowering future generations through academic excellence by serving as the president of the JHT Scholarship foundation. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, pickleball, traveling, and board games.
Meet Evelyn Blue! She is the oldest daughter of James Henry Thomas. She was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC. She earned her Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from Fayetteville Technical Community College. She enjoys camping in her RV, reading, and spending time with her family.
Meet Tiffany Williams! She is the youngest granddaughter of James Henry Thomas, from Charlotte, NC. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Business. Tiffany is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and enjoys serving her community and being with her family.
Meet Angela Thomas-Crosby! She is the second oldest daughter of James Henry Thomas. Angela is a Fayetteville native and director of two childcare facilities. She enjoys outdoor adventures, serving her community, and spending time with her family. Angela is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
Meet Alexis Blue-Wilson! She is a Fayetteville native and the eldest granddaughter of James Henry Thomas. She recently obtained her Doctorate in Social Work from Capella University. She enjoys working closely with her community and her best friend/cousin Tiffany Williams. Alexis is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
